Description of service
The price is the monthly charge for extended basic cable ($25 per month) with one premium channel group ($5 per month) through the local cable TV provider. A converter was needed to view the premium channels ($2 per month). Taxes and fees make up the remainder of the cost.
They also offer cable internet at a verity of speeds, cable-connected telephone, digital cable and DVRs (either rentals or a card for use with your own unit), and a variety of premium channel groups, though premium channels can't be added one at a time.
Review of Service
A few of the channels were pretty fuzzy (the TV listings channel and a few of the extended basic cable channels) and one was entirely unwatchable (but it showed golf, so I didn't really care). The cable box was, frankly, antiquated, but it worked.
I ended the service in August of 2007, mostly because I don't really watch much TV any more, and can just rent movies if I want to see them.
Tips
For movie channels and whatnot, most people have two choices: cable and satellite. Neither is really better than the other, they're just different. Either can be knocked out in a storm, though satellite takes a bit more effort to set up, though the effort is usually made by the installer.
