I signed up for a basic service for my home. The cost for the first three months was to be $40 per month and was to include premium channels free for three months.
Review of Service
There are a number of different offers being made for signing up for new service at very reduced initial rates. The installation was included, as it is with almost all cable and satellite companies. This offer was made through a direct mailing to our home. These offers are also availabe at retail stores and through inserts in many magazines and newspapers.
The receivers were installed in our designated locations, and the workman arrived within 40 minutes of the arranged time frame. It went well and was completed in less than two hours.
The only questions that I had were that the receivers were not new, but were refurbished. The cases were not scratched and appeared to be new, but thetag indicated they were not new. They worked fine at the initial testing and still are fine.
Tips
Before signing any agreement do a little research and look for the best offers of not only price but "free" services such as premium or movies. Mention what a competitor is offering.
Ask what the cancellation policy is for the service.
Be sure to try the equipment while the tech is still there at the initial installation. Also, be sure there is a users manual or on-screen instructions in case of problems.
