the Price of Basic Cable with Premium Channels

I used a major local provider for basic cable, which includes several premium channels. This cable package came as parts of a larger package covering cable and voice over IP telephone service.

The cable service is fantastic and top-notch. The internet, provided over the cable lines, is also top-notch. The telephone, however, is not. The service is spotty and the voice sounds tinny. I wish I had a few more channels provided, however. The cable shows you all of the programming you are missing, and almost begs you to purchase an upgraded service package.

If you go for a package deal, make sure that you read a few reviews on the specific companies available in your area. Since cable television availability is very location-specific, you may have very limited options. Be sure that you at least get a package that gives you the specific channels you are looking for, even if you wind up having to pay a bit more. I would recommend against voice over IP telephone service, especially when it's bundled from your cable company. They generally will not have much experience or infrastructure to provide reliable service. Remember, you get what you pay for, whether it's cable, internet, telephone, or all three at the same time!
