Description of service
I went in for a basic trim, for about 2-3 inches. My hair was already damp so I declined the shampoo; I'm not sure if this would have cost extra or not. It took about twenty minutes and the original charge was $18 so I tipped $2 to make it an even $20.
Review of Service
I went to this salon because of its location near my house. The first time I tried to go in as a walk-in, on a Friday afternoon, but they were not able to cut my hair at that time. I later called and made an appointment for this hair cut. I did not have to wait at all and the service was very friendly. At other salons I have had to stand while getting my hair cut, due to my hair's long length, so I was very pleased when this salon allowed me to sit down. I value a hair cut as a relaxing experience so this is very important to me. I was also glad that this stylist did not try to force conversation as some do. I prefer to sit back and enjoy the experience, without feeling pressured to engage in unnecessary chit-chat. She stopped several times to obtain my input on the progress of the cut and agreed to add in some layers when I asked her to. Altogether this was a very pleasant experience and I plan to return to this business for my next hair cut.
Tips
Ask around for other peoples' experiences at various salons. If you anticipate a dramatic hair cut/style, go in beforehand to discuss the possibilties and do a trail styling to see if the salon is a good fit for you.
