Description of service
A standard men's haircut includes a basic chat with the stylist about how you want your hair to look, a shampoo and then the actual cutting of my hair and "shaping" of my hairlines.
The shop I go to also brings you free beer, offers a selection of magazines and plays really loud music to keep my mind off of how much I hate getting my hair cut.
Review of Service
I always like my hair a week after I get it cut, right afterwards I'm also sure that it's too short or too radical. The people are sometimes act more than a little bored with their jobs and I get concerned that they're so bored that they don't listen to what I want, but I've never walked out with any major issue.
I go there for the ambiance and the fairly cheap but not too cheap hair cuts, not the social interaction between stylist and customer.
Tips
Know what you're looking for, if you want to be friends with the person cutting your hair then find that instead of settling for someone who can "just" cut your hair. If you want to go somewhere that's fairly efficient and focused on hair instead of customer service, find a nice cheap place, settle in with someone who knows what you want and think about your grocery list instead of making small talk. It's great!
