Description of service
This was a beginner's knitting class held at a local yarn shop. The price did not include materials. This class was suitable for beginning knitters and covered the basics of knitting.
Review of Service
This knitting class was fun and informal, with two ladies who worked at the yarn shop going over the very basic fundamentals of knitting. It lasted two hours, and many people stayed a bit longer afterwards to ask specific questions and get tips. One of the biggest things covered was how to hold the needles and yarn, as there were a few left-handed people in the group and others had simply learned how to hold their yarn differently from friends or relatives. The class went on to cover the knit stitch, purl stitch, casting on, and binding off. This class would be boring for someone that already knew these basic skills, but would definitely benefit anyone who was looking to start knitting their first project and didn't want to try to learn from a book.
Tips
Call the class beforehand and see what kind of materials you need. Some yarn shops that hold classes require that you buy certain materials from their shop before class starts, while others will allow you to bring your own.
