Description of service
Before Christmas, I took a simple group class offered by my local craft store about how to knit a christmas stocking. All of us in the group had at least some knitting experience, and the instructor of the class showed us how to knit the way required for a Christmas stocking, and then came around to all of us and made sure we were doing it correctly.
Review of Service
It was a fun, charming class. We learned reasonably well how to make the Christmas Stocking, and it was fun to be working with all the other classmates. It was a social event, and all of the women were chatting and talking about Christmas and knitting and what have you. The instructer provided us with all the materials that we needed for the price, and she had printed out simple instructions and the pattern we were following, as well as ideas of how to expand upon the basic design to make a more personalized gift.
Tips
I'd definitely recommend that anyone who is attending a knitting class has at least a little bit of experience. Even if you're a complete newbie, buy a pair of needles and some yarn, pull up a youtube video or a website, and familiarize yourself with the basics-even if you can't complete a stitch, at least you'll have a starting place when you get to class so you won't be completely overwhelmed.
