Description of service
Knitting classes at the local craft store, lessons for beginners on, to help eliminate your stash, or use new patterns. Each class is $5 and includes the patterns, and at least 2 hours of teaching time.
Review of Service
I had a wonderful time! I'm more of an intermediate-advanced knitter, but the class was so informative I learned several things I didn't know, including a few abbreviations I had not understood before. I will definitely be returning to take more classes, if not just for the companionship, but the wonderful teaching at a low price! To even buy a simple knitting handbook is almost $20, here you get not only hands on learning, but expert instruction! I much prefer this over the DVDs and books that are available for new knitters. I find them to be rather confusing and unclear.
Tips
Always ask the store workers if they have classes available. Many stores offer them, but don't always have easily visible fliers. Some stores operate fully on word of mouth services, to cut down on being overwhelmed. Also, many are flexible. I know my local craft store offers day classes, evening (sometimes) and weekends. I even know of a local store that offers babysitting during crafting! Basically, the best thing to do is look around and see whats out there!
