Description of service
This was the 2nd knitting class in a series and was called next step and was geared toward the advanced beginner. The focus was on knitting a baby sweater. The price only included the class. You were responsible for bringing all of your own supplies, and a supply list was emailed to you a week prior to the class. The class lasted 2 hours. There was one teacher and she was the owner of a knitting supply shop.
Review of Service
This was a fun class. I took it because I had a new niece that was born in November and needed a gift for her for Solstice. I did not get the whole sweater finished in the class, but did finish it at home and my niece loved it. We were told to bring pre-patterned yarn in a natural fiber. I chose cotton/wool blend in shades of blue and green. The whole sweater was done in the same knit to make the pattern show up well. I was impressed with the teacher. I had never done anything but washcloths and scarves, so making sleeves and collars was completely new to me. The teacher was very patient with everyone and I left feeling very confident. I would definitely suggest this class to anyone.
Tips
Realize that when you are dealing with pre-patterned yarn that any mistake will mess up the pattern. You have to be careful and really pay attention to your stitches. That said, its really fun to work with and neat to see the pattern form before your eyes as you go along. After taking the beginners class, this was the next step. I was nervous that I was not ready for it, but the teacher proved I was.
