Description of service
I took my bike in to have the brakes tightened and to check out something that had been making my back tire click as I rode. There were no parts that I bought so the service was $10, but since the guy was so awesome I gave him a $5 tip.
Review of Service
The woman at the front was alright, she answered my questions about how much it would cost and if it could be completed before they closed for the night, but she wasn't all that enthusiastic about helping me. When I actually took the bike to the back, the guy working on fixing it was awesome. He was very friendly and not only fixed everything, but answered all my questions about how to tighten the brakes on my own. He also noticed that the back tire was not properly hooked into the frame, so he told me how to properly put it back after replacing an inner tube. He even took me behind the counter so I could see what he was doing up close, however a supervisor then told me I had to wait on the other side of the counter, so I wasn't too happy with that. Overall I was very happy with my interaction with the mechanic, but somewhat dissatisfied with the supervisor's attitude. The service was a great value for the price, that is why I left so much of a tip.
Tips
Find a bike shop that is friendly. Most of them are, but if you find yourself at one that is not, then just leave and find a different one, you can have a great learning experience while keeping your bike in good condition.
