Description of service
Each year your bike should be have a professional tune up. You never know what you'll find when you pull your bicycle out of its winter storage area. This year the bike was intact with just the usual dirt and grime that accumulates from winter in the shed. After a quick wipe down, I loaded the bike into my car and drove it to where I purchased it. When I bought the bike I saw their policy said the bike was "Guaranteed for Life". There was no charge for tune ups or adjustments as long as you own the bike. I thought it was too good to be true but I have received an annual tune up free for the last three years.
Review of Service
Since it was early in the season, the store was not very crowded. The sales clerk asked about the condition of the bike and type of riding I do. Then the bike was brought into the back for a tune up. I browsed the store and the bike was ready about twenty minutes later. The bike was thoroughly clean, tires full, gears and brakes were cleaned and adjusted.
Tips
Choose your bike shop not only by price but by the type of guarantee they offer. I've heard an annual tune up can run up to fifty dollars elsewhere. By choose my bike shop based on their service policy, I've easily saved over one hundred and fifty dollars in the last three years.
