Description of service

The bike to be serviced was reasonably new (about 2 years old) and did not have too many miles on it. The cost above includes a overall check of the bike, including tire wear and tire pressure, tube condition, spokes, brake pads and cables, wheel alignment, seat and handlebar posts, grips, pedals, chain, and dérailleur. Minor adjustments and fixes were covered in this cost, such as adding air to the tires, straightening spokes, and tightening break lines. Repairs requiring more work or parts would have cost more, but it wasn't necessary.

Review of Service

Very pleased. It was a thorough inspection of the bike, and I felt confident that it was safe and rideable.

Tips

Check out the bike shop before you take your bike in, especially if you are not that knowledgeable about bike repair and maintenance yourself. You are putting your life and health in these people's hands, literally. I chose my shop based on the recommendation of a friend who is an expert cyclist-maybe you can find a similar person, or look for reviews on the web. And be careful when you ride the bike for the first time after it has been serviced. Even the best shop can make a mistake, like forgetting to reconnect your brakes!
