Description of service
I had previously broken a tooth and put off having it repaired. By the time I could no longer avoid visiting the dentist, it was necessary for me to have a root canal prior to having the crown applied. The process happened in two parts, first the root canal, and then, a less painful, crown application.
Review of Service
The service was a necessary evil. I was given the obligatory speech about having waited to long to have the initial repairs done, but overall, the dentist and assistant was friendly. It was somewhat painful initially, and the dentist was sympathetic. I was concerned about the cost, and the billing department worked one on one with me to explain the charges.
Tips
To begin with, I would recommend having dental work done as soon as a problem arises, and bi-anually, but if that is not an option, I would recommend finding a dentist you are comfortable with. I had visited this dentist in the past, so I knew the level of service I would be receiving. But if it's been awhile since you've had dental work done, and you find yourself in an emergency situation, I would still recommend shopping around a bit. Chances are, you'll be seeing the doctor on more than one occasion for this process, and you won't want to have to change doctors mid-stream if your emergency choices makes you uncomfortable. There will be unnecessary costs incurred, and you won't want to rehash the emergency procedures with your new doctor.
