Description of service
I had a bad cavity and needed to have a root canal but because my roots were curving off to the side and not straight my normal dentist could not do the procedure. I was sent to an endodontist who would be able to complete the procedure. They numbed my mouth and drilled through the decay in my roots. They put on a temporary crown until I could go back to my dentist for a permanent crown.
Review of Service
The procedure was fairly painful. I was also very nervous so that probably did not help. When the dentist numbed my mouth the injections were very painful and I have had many injections before. I'm not sure if it was placement or technique but the injections actually made tears come to my eyes. One of the injections actually felt as though it was going straight through my cheek into my eye socket. But after everything was numb the rest of the procedure was painless. I did not feel any pain again for a few more hours but I was given a prescription to help with the pain.
Tips
Well obviously my tip would be to take care of your teeth so you don't have to have these kind of dental procedures to begin with. Of course I know that this can be hard to avoid so my next tip would be to go to the dentist as soon as you begin to feel any pain. I have definitely learned that the longer you wait the worse the problem becomes.
