Description of service
Part of my tooth had fallen out. That tooth was also loose, and so was the tooth next to it. The dentist had to put me on antibiotics for a week before doing the root canal, and then for another week after the root canal. She then put on a temporary filling, made sure the infection was gone, and had me come in to put on the crown. The dentist charged $600 for the bicuspid root canal, $205 for the core buildup, and $750 for the crown-porc fused to Noble.
Review of Service
The dentist did a good job. My tooth was so infected it was loose, and so was the tooth next to it. Now, neither tooth is loose. I did not like the clamp attached to my teeth to isolate it while she worked, which all dentists don't use, but overall the service was very good.
Tips
I would recommend going to a dentist that you are familiar with for this type of procedure, since everyone reacts to novacaine differently and has different teeth sensitivies, and you want a dentist who is willing and able to meet those needs. Also, I waited too long before going in. If you can help it, go in before your tooth is ready to fall apart. I needed 4 appointments because of my infection, and because I came in on an emergency basis and was only evaluated the first time. If I would have had her start that day, she could have only done part of the procedure, and I would have been charged an additional $115 for pulpal debridement, prim and perm.
