Description of service
The service included: installing and running a propane line into the house and along the floor boards to two locations in the home, installing two new propane wall units 27,000 BTU, installing a large propane tank next to the house and showing us how to operate the units.
They make a small hole in the side of the home and run a pipe through out the basement along the floor boards to the rooms where the heaters were being installed. The attached all the necessary hardware to secure the pipe. They secure the heaters on the wall, drilling and installing them where you choose. All the lines are tested for leaks and finally they are turned on. They spend a great deal of time making sure you feel comfortable with the heaters and are aware of the risks as well as precautions for using them safely. They go through step by step instruction for lighting and running the units. From setting the temperature to the safety of leaving them on while you are sleeping or are not at home. They placed the propane tanks where we specified and leveled the ground before installing them. The tank comes with a few gallons of propane to test the system and they will return within the week to completely fill the tank. This was included in the price of the installation. They will also come back to fill and maintain all equipment.
Review of Service
The installation was very quick. It took a little over an hour to complete. The heaters are very easy to use and they put off a very efficient amount of heat. The technicians were very knowledgable and professional. We are very happy with the heaters and the installation. They are 90 percent efficient in heating and the amount of heat they put off is amazing. One heating unit at 27,000 BTU's is able to heat our entire living room and most of our dining room. The second unit heats the entire hallway, bathroom and two bedrooms in a ranch style home. The heaters are set on low. On high they burn about 2 gallons of propane an hour, but no one would need to run them on high even in the very middle of winter. We are very satisfied with the easy installation and the overall outcome of our decision.
Tips
When looking to replace your heating system consider all options. We went from oil to propane. The price for both is high but the efficiency is much greater for propane. Find a local dealer who will come out and give you an estimate on the cost before making your final decision. Decide what your heating needs are and consider all expenses. In the end you will end up with the most efficient system saving you money in the end.
