Description of service
This past November my heating unit broke down. It was a fourteen year old unit, so I guess it was about time for it to be replaced. I've heard they usually work for about ten years. I called the regular heating and air man that I have used for years. His service calls usually run about $75 dollars, which he includes in his fee towards parts or a new heating unit if you need one. Unfortunatly, my heating unit had to be replaced and the total price with tax and installation was a total of $4,800.
Review of Service
The sevice I recieved was excellent. I hated to pay such a high price for a new unit, but what can I say, you can't live without heat in the winter time. It took a total of three hours to replace the old unit and the service man I use hauled the old unit away for me. This new unit works fine so far. I hope it will last a long time.
Tips
My advice to anyone needing to replace their heating unit is to call someone they can trust. I have heard about people paying more for a new unit than I did. Before you agree to have someone install a new one, be sure you know the total cost of the job and if they charge a service fee just to show up, will it be included in the total price of the installation.
