Description of service
Complete removal and disposal of old furnace and replacement with a new furnace. Some metal fabricating was necessary to properly install this new unit as the old one was much larger (from the 1970's) and inefficient. We were first visited by the company and told of the crack our current furnace had and given a range of furnaces which would be appropriate for our house and told up front of the cost of each. We were also also given the opportunity to qualify for a 0% financing option.
Review of Service
Upon signing for the authorization to install the new furnace we were told it would be approximately 1 week to do the install. We were very pleasantly surprised when we were called the next day and told they could come out the day after that to install. A crew of 2 men arrived promptly at 9am and worked until about 5pm. The furnace was working but they did have to return the next day to finish up and clean up. They did not leave a mess at all, were polite and we were extremely please with the service we received.
Tips
Since replacing a furnace is only a 3-4 times in a lifetime event we really didn't know who to call. My brother and wife had recently put an addition on their house and they knew of this particular contracter from their experience. For some reason they had not actually used them (because of an issue with the general contractor they were using), but they said that they would have if the choice had been up to them. We had quotes from 3 different companies and this one was the middle-pricewise. The lowest had been used by our in-laws but then we heard bad things about them and the highest was so far above this one it was beyond our price-range. I would suggest asking friends/family for any experiences they have had, get at least 3 quotes and check them out on the internet. It's a big purchase and you don't want the wrong choice.
