Description of service
I was having difficulty making a left turn with my car. It was as though the steering on the left was not working. I took it to my mechanic as I had never had this problem before with any car. He took one look at it and told me the joint on the left was shot and needed replacing. He took it for a day and had it for me the next day.
Review of Service
Needless to say, I was pleased that I did not have to wait long for the service to be rendered. I was pleased with the overall service as this mechanic is more reasonable with his prices than others in the area. The mechanic is honest and fair and I use him for my major jobs. I have another mechanic for the small jobs and emergencies. The mechanic that does my big jobs lives 25 minutes away, the one for emergencies is around the corner from me, but is more expensive on the major jobs. The only problem I had with this job is that when my car was returned to me, the steering wheel was not "centered" properly, so my steering felt a little off. I called this mechanic, and he said he did not have the equipment to complete a front end alignment and said I would need to go somewhere else to get the done. As it turned out, I was able to compensate and did not have the alignment done yet.
Tips
1. Spend the time to find a mechanic you trust. Ask for references from friends and family members.
2. Stick with this mechanic. As he gets to know your car he can make suggestions as to whether the car should be continued to be repaired or traded in for a new one.
3. Get to know the sounds and "quirks" of your car and listen when they "speak". Save yourself the hassle of an emergency by taking your ca in when the car tells you to!!!
