Description of service
I had previously had my ac unit fixed by this mechanic. It worked fine for about 3-4 days when it started running warm and cool. I could not figure out what was wrong. Then, as I was driving back to work from lunch and stopped at a stop sign, someone caught my attention and said my car was smoking! Rather than panic an stop right there, I went back to work, lifted my hood, could see no smoke, but did see a loose hose. Not knowing what this was I immediately called my mechanic.
Review of Service
I think I have found one of the last TRUE trustworthy mechanics left. No only had I not yet paid for the first fix of the a/c unit, AT HIS INSISTANCE, but he said drive it until you are satisfied. When I took it back to him he looked at it and tested it out and what he did caused the problem to show up in spades! Apparently something was causing the freon unit to build up pressure and the pressure came out the release valve, hence the smoke! He took it, fixed it and charged LESS than originally quoted! So far it works fine!!
Tips
1. Shop around for a mechanic. Use word of mouth recommendations.
2. Once you find a good one, treat him/her VERY well!!! And hang on to him/her! Honest mechaniocs are a rarity!!
