Description of service
My car was overheating and I figured the thermostat was shot. I took the car to my regular mechanic. I asked him to look at the coolant too as it appeared to be very dark in color. When they called me to tell me what was wrong, not only was I right about the thermostat and coolant, but I also needed a new water pump (oh..so THAT was what the water was under my car the day before!!)
Review of Service
At first the clerk told me they had only one mechanic on and that they could not take me this day. She did say if I left the car I could get it first thing the next morning. I left it and it was ready "first" thing...11 am!!! When I went in, I was immediately greeted with the car keys, an explaination of my bill and the bill itself. I did receive a big Thanks when I left. The car worked fine and I had heat!
Tips
1. The moment your heater begins to heat sluggishly, and takes a long time to warm up, take it in to your mechanic! Dont wait like I did..I could have avoided all this.
2. Perform regular maintenance on your car, such as changing the anti freeze
3. Explore anyleaks you see under your car to determine if they cane from you or not..bring your car in for servicing if you are unsure
Moral to the story: DONT wait...get your car into a garage at the first sign of trouble...it WONT go away!!!
