Description of service
The service i pied $20/hr for was private swimming lessons for an intermediate level swimmer. My child is on the swim team at a local swim club and was interested in improving his times for races at swim meets. I spoke with several of the coaches who were all offering private swimming lessons at approximately the same rate. I allowed my child to decide which coach would give him the lessons. During the lesson my child and the coach worked on improving his technique for the race start and his freestyle and backstroke technique. In all my child received 10 hours of private lessons for a total of $200
Review of Service
I felt the lessons were a very good value. My child improved his times in races and looked more comfortable during his start. During the race he seemed like he was moving through the water without using so much energy- in general his technique looked to me like it had improved. In addition to improving his times and technique my child now has a good friendly relationship with the coach that gave him lessons. Now during practice I have seen the coach remind him about what they worked on in the lessons.
Tips
Make sure your child is interested in having a private lesson. If they are not interested it will be a waste of money for you and a waste of time for the coach/instructor. Make sure the instructor you choose gets along with your child- I did this by letting my child pick the instructor he wanted to work with. Finally, shop around and see what different instructors are charging so you are sure to get a fair price
