Description of service
The swimming lesson was for 3 - 6 year olds. 4 days a week from Monday to Thursday, 30 minutes a lesson. Friday was for make up lessons in case a lesson was cancelled due to bad weather or fell on a holiday. The price was for 2 weeks per kid. The kids didn't have to have any swimming experience but they did need to be at least 3 years old. They were quite strict about that for insurance purposes. It was a group lesson. There were about 10 - 12 kids per class. In each lesson, there were one lead teacher and two assistants. They were all certified life guards and the lead teacher had experience teaching young kids swimming. They offer 5 consecutive sessions of 2-week lessons in the summer.
Review of Service
The lessons were very good. I put my son in last year when he was around 4. Before the lessons, we had taken him to the pools, and he could jump into water but he didn't feel comfortable letting go of us once he was in the water. We put him through all 5 sessions. We were really immpressed. The teachers had this 5-level scale, starting from tadpole, minnow, goldfish, dolphin, shark to life guards. The kids all knew about it and wanted to move up the scale. My son made so much progess in the 10 weeks, that at the end he could swim across the width of a standard sized swimming pool. The most important thing was that he really built up confidence in himself and has been very confortable with water since.
Tips
My husband and I were very impressed with the lessons. This year we have already signed our daughter up. She wasn't old enough last year. We are also going to put our son in too just to brush up his skills. They teach at different levels depending on the kid. I think the pool was also specially designed for kids. The shallow end of the pool was less than 3 feet deep so that the kids could all stand up on their feet. I think that did a lot to take away the anxiety of being in a big pool.
