Description of service
Group swimming lessons for my 6 year old son. The class met twice a week for three weeks. This is the cost for a 3-week session.
Review of Service
There were 2-6 children taught by one instructor. The instructors were each amazing, very qualified, personable individuals. I couldn't have asked for better teachers. I think the classes with 5-6 kids, however, were tougher for them to manage. I found my son learned more when he was in a smaller group.
At all times, there was one life guard on duty, and at least 5 other qualified life guards in the pool area. The children were very safe there. I once saw the director of the program jump into the pool- fully clothed - because she thought a child was struggling to stay above water.
Tips
Before signing up for a specific class at a specific time, I would ask about class sizes. Some classes at popular times have a lot more students. If you are flexible, you can sign your child up for a class fewer kids, and get a little more instruction for your money.
I would also suggest asking about the programs "levels" for beginner swimmers. The program my son was in had levels, but it was impossible to tell how much a full course of swimming lessons would cost from that. Some levels the kids whizzed through in one session; other levels the kids trudged through for 6 or 7 sessions. This is frustating for both kids and parent.
