Description of service
I enrolled my 9 year old granddaughter in the local community swim classes. The cost was $25 a week, with 2 lessons and unlimited use of the pool. There were four instructors and no more than 15 children. The ages ranged from 5 years to 12 years. The classes were held in the mornings and lasted about 45 minutes. Each student got a one on one time with the instructor. Parents were allowed at the pool but not in the pool.
Review of Service
The instructors were great. The students loved the pool and water and were eager to learn. The instructors were very careful not to frighten the children. The let them go and learn at their own pace. One of the most important things they learned was how to roll over and float on their backs. Also, they are taught how to get to the side of the pool and hold on to the side. This was really a basic swimming class teaching the fundamentals. I call it survival. The class lasted a month. The complete cost was $100.
Each child received a certificate of completion and free week at the pool.
Tips
Always check with the community offering the class. Also pay a visit to the pool and meet the instructors. Let your child go there and watch. See how they respond. Don't push the child.
