Description of service
Everyone should know how to swim. Starting at a young age is the best way to learn. Classes are offered at my local community center. There are different levels for all swimmers. Infants can go in the pool with their parents. Classes are also offered for teens and adults who never learned to swim. The group session runs for six weeks. The maximum number of students per class varies by instructional level. I think it is a very good value at a little over twelve dollars a lesson.
Review of Service
My son has been taking lesson for several years. This season he is placed at the advanced beginner level. His group is working on their strokes and timing of taking breaths. Each session ends will a fun activity like picking up items off the bottom or jumping in. They have also practiced using snorkels and fins.
Tips
Look for a swim program that places students by ability level not by age group. It is important the student does not feel overwhelmed by the class. Ask to speak to the swim director if you are not sure which level is appropriate. Often private lessons are available to bring your child up to speed with the group.
