Description of service
We paid this price for a two week session of swimming lessons for our five year old. The lessons were for 1 and a half hours, Monday-Friday, for a total of ten lessons. The first hour of the class consisted of teaching different techniques, while the last thirty minutes was just for fun. This was a beginners class. It was designed for young children who have had little, if any, exposure to swimming. The parents were expected to stay for the entire class period. There were five students in our class and one instructor.
Review of Service
Although my son did not actually learn how to swim on his own, he did learn alot. The instructor started with blowing water bubbles. He then showed the children floating with the use of a water stick. The children also learned how to tread water, hold their breath under water, kick, and some other basic swimming techniques. I expect that my son will be swimming this year as a result of this exposure.
Tips
Ask parents in your area if their child has had swimming lessons. They can be an invaluable source of information. Also, don't be surprised if your child is not swimming at the end of the lessons. Some children take a bit longer to get used to the idea!
