Description of service
A team of three house cleaners come biweekly to my 3300 square foot home. The women are here for about two to two and one half hours. They dust furniture, pictures, window sills and baseboards. They vacuum carpets, mop floors, and clean and disinfect kitchen and bathrooms. They do not clean inside any appliance, except the microwave. They clean the slider and windows framing the front door, but no other windows. They also change sheets on the beds and empty the trash. They bring all of their own cleaning products, vacuum, broom, mop and cleaning towels.
Review of Service
I love the team of house cleaners that we've hired. They are extremely reliable, friendly and thorough. There have been times where I've (nicely) pointed out a spot (top of the armoire, oven grates) they have missed, and they willingly clean it the next time and every time after. I really wish they would do the inside of the windows, but that's not part of what we pay! I know that some housekeepers empty dishwashers, do laundry, wash windows and clean the refrigerator- but their services cost far more!
Tips
Before you hire a housekeeper, make sure you have in writing what their job entails. Talk to some of their other clients, ask how long it will take and how many people will be helping. If you plan on staying in the house, make that clear to them before they start with you! Also, don't be afraid to kindly point out spots that they missed if it is part of their job responsibility. Always tip around the holidays- usually a full cleaning's worth.
