Description of service
We pay $100 per visit by our housekeeper. She is scheduled to come once a week and she spends 1 - 2 hours per week on cleaning our home. Our home consists of 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a living room, dining room, and kitchen. During her visit she routinely changes the bedding and towels, cleans the bathrooms including sinks, tubs, and toilets, vacuums and scrubs all floors. Likewise our housekeeper dusts and cleans the appliances based on a bi-weekly schedule. Finally, she adds extra touches on a weekly basis. These touches have included straightening closets, sweeping the garage, and cleaning out the refrigerator.
We typically leave the home fairly neat allowing for her to quickly come through and clean the home. In addition, I start the laundering of the sheets and towels and she finishes the process by drying them and replacing them. We have a set time for her to come weekly and try to make sure we are out of the home. She bills us monthly for her services.
Review of Service
We believe we receive very good service from our housekeeper. Our home always looks wonderful when we arrive home after her visit. She is trustworthy which is important when leaving your home with a stranger. She consistently surprises us with her extra touches and we believe $100 per week is a small price to pay for the time we are not spending on cleaning our home. We have used our housekeeper since our home was built and, as a result, it looks brand new although it is five years old.
Tips
We believe, above all, it is important to find someone you trust to clean your home. Other services may be less expensive but we trust our housekeeper and she consistently does a wonderful job. We conducted interviews to find the right housekeeper for us and did not rush to make a decision. Finally we conducted reference checks and made sure our housekeeper was insured as one can never be too careful with allowing strangers into their home.
