the Cost of Cable TV Repair Services

This is the price we recently paid for a cable tv repair service by our local cable company. We had been having problems with our cable service for about a week before we called to have a technician come to our home. The price was a flat rate quoted to me beforehand for a service call. I was told on the phone that the fee would only be charged if the technicians found that the problem was not caused by their equipment. The technicians came the next day after I called and arrived on time. There were two technicians and they were able to diagnose and repair the problem in about two hours.

Unfortunately, the problem we were having was caused by us and we were subsequently charged for the service call. Our cable reception had been fuzzy and would sometimes not work at all. When the technicians came, they thought that an animal may have gotten into our crawlspace and chewed a cable. I immediately knew that animal was probably our new labrador Stewie, or as we have now renamed him- Chewie. Yes, he had somehow gotten in the crawlspace and chewed the cable. The problem was easily fixed and we had a good laugh in the process.

Anytime you have to call a technician to complete a cable tv repair, I would ask on the phone if there will be a charge for the service. Many cable companies will just add the charge to your monthly bill.
