Description of service

You can't visit Chicago and not visit museum or two or three.... This museum is probably Chicago's most famous and was priced right..

The price was for one adult ticket ($14) and one child ticket ($9). I think Chicago residents get a couple of dollar discount.

Review of Service

The museum is open 9-5 every day. So, of course we were there pretty much right at 9 a.m. There's convenient city bus service to the museum and we caught the city bus right outside our downtown hotel.

Thank goodness there's a map of the museum and plenty of friendly staff to help us. What a huge place and what a great experience.

We spent the whole morning on the first floor. Because we were in no rush, we took our time and really soaked it all in. Then we had lunch and my grandson actually fell asleep at the lunch table !! He slept about thirty minutes and when he woke up, he was ready for another 1/2 day of adventure.

We spent about two hours on the second floor and decided to call it a day. We could have come for 4 or 5 days, stayed all day, and not seen all this museum had to offer. What a great day we had !!

Tips

Go during the week - the weekends are especially crowded.

Take your time. Take a few minutes when you first arrive and look over the map. Decide what the things are you really want to see and make sure you make time for them. Sometimes you get so caught up in one area that you miss out on something you were looking forward to seeing. Or.... come back a 2nd day !!!
