the Price of Piano Lessons

I have recently hired a private music teacher for myself to teach me how to play the piano. I pay this teacher seventy five dollars a hour for his services. I meet him for one hour a week. I use his piano for the lessons and practice at home on a keyboard I have. I am waiting to purchase my own piano until I am proficient since it is a considerable investment. The teacher is providing me with music books free of additional charge.

I am very happy with my lessons thus far. In the one hour a week that we meet, we are able to accomplish a lot. Of course, I spend three to four hours a week practicing on my own. The pace of my lessons are perfect-challenging but not to the point of frustration.

I am an adult so, in looking for a teacher, I wanted someone who was used to working with adults as well as children. Since I do not have a piano at my home, I looked for someone who teaches on his own. For beginners, I would suggest this as no one would want to purchase a piano only to quit taking lessons a month later. The person I hired has taught for twenty years, and I would strongly recommend hiring someone with at least ten years of experience not just in playing piano but in teaching it.
