the Price of Piano Lessons

For $40 a session, my daughter's piano teacher comes to our house for an hour piano lesson. This hourly session fee includes the sheet music, music books, the actual teaching, the teacher coming to our home and a yearly recital.

I absolutely love my daughter's piano teacher. She is a young music graduate student who gives lessons to pay her bills. With 2 other kids in various activities, it is a struggle to get everyone to where they need to go. Having our piano teacher come to the house is a total lifesaver. She is so good with my daughter. She is patient, kind and generously shares her love of music. She teaches my daughter technique with songs that she loves such as songs from her favorite Disney movies. She makes music a fun and fulfilling experience for my daughter. Our teacher is so great that even my older son has recently expressed an interest in taking lessons - something he never would ahve done before.

Definitely find someone who loves music and wants to share that love with his or her students. Also, especially with young kids, patience is key and making the whole experience fun. You or your kid will be spending a lot of time with the teacher, so make sure you hire someone with whom you or your child is very comfortable with.
