the Cost of Refrigerator Repair

Had to have a refrigeration company come to my house to service the refrigerator. It is a side by side refrigerator less than 3 years old. The problem was it would not get cold and made loud noises. The nearest reputable company that was licensed was over 90 miles away. Therefore they charged a minimum of $100 travel expenses plus $100.00 per hour labor and whatever parts cost if needed.

It took them a few days to schedule an appointment but they did get here on time. The repair man was polite and seemed to know his trade. Fortunately it turned out to be a loose wire but he did take some time to clean the motor and give the refrigerator a general check over. He also gave us a lesson in keeping the appliance in good working condition. He told us if we had any more problems to always call and let him know what was going on and hopefully he could walk us through the fix.

There was not a lot we could say about the cost as we do live far out. One suggestion would be, if you need some type of appliance service when you call them, ask if they are scheduled to come close to your area. Many times they will split the travel costs with you and the other customer. It could save you dollars.
