Description of service
We had a problem with our refrigerator. The freezer would stop working and food was going bad. The fridge was working, but not nearly cold enough. We called 3 places and 2 showed up for the repair. We asked both for an estimate before proceeding and were given two different prices. We went with the cheaper one and they did the repair the same day and it?s been fine ever since. We also were careful to choose a service center that was an authorized dealer for the brand of fridge we had as to not cause problems with future repairs.
Review of Service
It took both companies 2 days to arrive and estimate the repairs. The company we went with used less parts and were less expensive. I think the other company was newer and less experienced and were changing a lot more parts in error.
Tips
It is key with any repair to get a firm estimate before proceeding. If the unit is older, you might consider a new unit if the cost is high enough. It is hard sometimes to estimate how much is too much, but a good rule of thumb is that the total repairs on a unit should not exceed 30% the cost of replacement.
