Description of service
$220 included the cost of an in-home assessment and repair. There was a $50 service call fee which was subtracted from the total bill when he returned to fix the refrigerator. I guess this is to keep people from finding out what's wrong and then trying to fix it themselves.
Review of Service
The gentleman that came out to my home was very courteous and polite. He asked what the problem was (icemaker wasn't working) and then asked several more general questions. He never made me feel stupid or inferior if I didn't know what he was referring to. He was very thorough in his examination of the refrigerator and follow up questions. Although he couldn't fix it that same day, he did return two days later when the part came in and solved the problem.
Tips
Find out ahead of time if someone will travel to your house or if you will have to bring the appliance in. If they will come to your home, see if they can give you a time window of when they will come so that you can make sure someone will be home. If a friend or neighbor will be the one to let the repair person in, make sure that they call you with pricing and questions before giving the "go ahead".
