Description of service
I have an automatic defrosting refrigerator that abruptly stopped working. The foodstuffs kept in the fridge became spoilt. The freezer worked slightly but it was insufficient to make ice-cubes. Water started dripping inside which overflowed and it was a common sight to see a stagnant pool of water below the fridge.
The company service technician came to look into the nature of the problem. He informed that the Fridge?s compressor required servicing to replace some parts. The compressor then should be refilled with Freon gas, otherwise known as CFC. After completing the procedure, the technician requested that he must confirm that the unit worked perfectly without any gas leak.
The technician gave a bill for his transportation costs for twenty dollars, Service charges for sixty dollars, Compressor price at 120 dollars and gas refilling rate at twenty dollars. The total expense for getting the fridge in operational condition was two hundred and twenty dollars.
Review of Service
After completely overhauling the refrigerator, it is working perfectly. I especially liked the way the technician diagnosed the problem immediately. It took sometime for the fridge to be ready but the delay was worthwhile. If I had purchased a new fridge, I would have squandered roughly five hundred dollars (at the least) for an additional fridge.
Tips
The refrigerator should be periodically cleaned to prevent fungal contamination. You should periodically check the working condition of the fridge to ensure that it maintains food at the right temperature. Cleaning the slender water pan at the fridge bottom helps to reduce disgusting odors.
Always seek a well-qualified company technician who is experienced with your brand fridge. Servicemen who lack knowledge about your fridge would often experiment and suggest replacing spare parts that require no substitution due to their inability to diagnose problems.
