Description of service
It costs $65.00 for a consultation with a dermatologist, but I was charged an additional $20.00 new patient fee.
Review of Service
During the past several years I have developed more than twenty small moles on my neck. While I was somewhat concerned with the appearance of the moles, I was worried that there might be some type of medical concern (such as skin cancer). I got a recommendation for a dermatologist from a friend and made an appointment. Because I was a new patient, it was three months before my appointment. Although that was a disappointment, it seems to be common for dermatologist to schedule new patients at late dates. The doctor was very professional and patient about answering all of my questions. He assured me that the moles were nothing to worry about and were actually a result of hormonal changes throughout my previous pregnancies. He suggested several ways to have them removed, but said that my insurance wouldn't pay and it would be very expensive. So, I decided to leave them alone for now. He gave me some brochures about skin cancer and told me to return if the moles changed in size or color.
Tips
If you have any health concerns, you should schedule an appointment with your doctor to have a check up. Early prevention is important.
