the Cost of Dermatology

The doctor saw us for our initial visit. Looked over the areas with the rash. Took a skin sample and suggested allergy testing. Also wrote a prescription for an allergy medication and a follow up appt. was scheduled

The Dermatologist was very profossional. She explained what could be causing the rash and also other factors in the environment that could cause it. A small sample of the skin was taken (did not cause pain) and then looked at it under a microscope to check for an infection or a fungus. She then went over everything with us and suggested changing things around the house such as soaps, detergents, cleaners and fabric softeners. A follow up plan was created and other options such as allergy testing was discussed. She answered all of our questions and did not make us feel uncomfortable or rushed in any way. We left with a follow up appointment and a prescription for a common allergy medication.

When choosing a Dermatologist check with family and friends. Sometimes they know of a great doctor or have heard of one. Be sure to write down the soaps, detergents and foods that are common in your home. Along with what pets you may have and any changes that were made prior or around the time your problem started. Also bring along any medications you are currently taking.
