Description of service
I received a check up to check for skin cancer , pre skin cancer or suspicious spots on the skin. The dermatologist did a scalp to toes visual check of all skin for any suspicious area. This was $120 .
The dermatologist found a suspicious spot on my face. She looked at it under a bright light and a magnifier. The decided she needed to remove the suspicious spot. She removed it with a topical numbing agent and a small scalpel. This part of the visit was $224.
She then sent the skin sample she had taken to the surgical pathology department. The cost for this was $339
Review of Service
I feel the actual service from the dermatologist was good. She was very friendly and made you feel at ease with the full body skin check. She explained very thoroughly why she was doing the biopsy, how she would do it and how to care for the small surgical area afterwards.
I really can't say I thought this was a good value for the money. The whole thing with the full body check, explanation , biopsy, and after care instructions took less that 30 minutes. I think that is a relatively short amount of time for the price paid for the service.
Tips
I would recommend consulting on the whole price for everything done during the visit before proceeding and if you are unsure to get another opinion.
