Description of service
The oxygen sensor stopped working and it had to be replaced. When this sensor goes out it causes the cars acceleration to act strange. Seems it should be a simple task. Also the rear oil seal was leaking and needed replacement as well. Judging by the cost of this service it must have been a difficult job.
Review of Service
We like the place that services our car. We think they do a proper job but we also think it is over priced. That is why I do all the maintenance I can which includes brake jobs and oil changes. I'm even thinking of doing the timing belt replacement which would include a water pump replacement. They even charged $35 to replace some bulbs that were out....ouch. That was when I had money.
Tips
If you HAVE to use a mechanic try to find someone that has experience with that mechanic. Otherwise I'd advise anyone to buy a manufacturers service manual and do the repairs yourself. Here is an example of the savings I have experienced. The place that does some work on our cars charges $250 per axle for a brake job. Thats $500 dollars! I can do it in a couple of hours for under $100. That is a substantial savings......
