Description of service
This price is for replacement/reset of the keyless entry system and one keyless remote. Remote was damaged and had to be completely replaced. Remote was attached to the actual car key which is why replacement was so expensive. The actual car key was not replaced, only the remote. Keyless entry system was reset and a new remote was provided. It was not a remote that was separate from the car key.
Review of Service
Service was great. Even though it was not a major repair it did take them some time to do so they gave me a loaner car in the meantime. Before I left, they tested the keyless remote with me present to assure that it was functioning and go over any questions I had. They tested all the functions to make sure the remote and the car were properly set to each other. I have not had any problems with the keyless entry since it was replaced. In addition, they also gave my car a complimentary wash. This service was definitely worth the extra money to have the attached remote.
Tips
The keyless entry remote that is attached to the car key has a definite advantage--if you have your key you have always have your remote and vice versa.
