the Price of Temporary Hair Straightening

We went in without an appointment to get my daughter's hair straightened for a big dance. The salon was normally booked up, but for some reason they had an opening that worked for this kind of small styling job. My daughter's hair is very thick and wavy, and it takes quite a bit of doing to get it really smooth, so she was excited to have it done professionally, otherwise, she would have worn it curly or up for the event. The stylist did not wash or dry her hair, just combed it out and used her professional flat iron on it. It took about 20 minutes start to finish. She used a little bit of smoothing serum on it, but mainly it was just the nice flat iron that made the difference.

The stylist did a very thorough job on my daughter's thick hair. I was not sure what to expect with a professional straightening, but they really worked to make sure it was absolutely straight and smooth, which pleased my daughter very much. They got through the entire head of hair and it lasted until the next washing, which my daughter postponed as long as possible.

Call ahead. I don't know if we would've paid more if we had had an appointment, but the good salons usually don't have openings on a walk in basis. We took a chance because we happened to be next door and they didn't look to have any customers.
