I went to a nationally known chain salon and got a shampoo, cut, and straightening treatment. The salon was located in a large shopping mall.
Review of Service
The service itself was fairly good. The stylist seemed to know what she was doing, and she was friendly enough. However, the quality of the straightening treatment for the price was just awful. It did not even straighten my hair at all. I have naturally wavy, very thick hair and all the straightening did was smooth it down a little bit. My hair was still very wavy and puffy when she blow dried it. I tried to get a refund or a discount but the salon does not have such a policy in place. Needless to say, I was pretty upset at paying $115 for something that didn't even work!
Tips
I would definitely call around for pricing to several different salons. My mistake was in not asking if this type of treatment would work on my hair. Make sure to ask that question! Also, ask what the refund policy is in case you are not happy with the way the service turned out. That way you will not be taken by surprise like I was!
