Description of service
I went into a local hair salon to have my daughter's hair straightened and fixed before her prom. It was not a pre-set appointment because she did not decide until the last minute that she wanted to do it. Since they had no one in the shop that morning, they took her right in and got to work. They just used the flat iron on her curly hair and maybe some kind of product to make it last longer.
Review of Service
I was very pleased with the outcome of the service. I hesitated to take my daughter in for a temporary straightening, because we can do this at home. But actually, it turned out much more shiny and straight than I would have had the patience to do. They didn't really charge me much. Maybe because it was just down time before the next appointment showed up or maybe because it was very simple to do. Either way, we were happy with the results and it seemed to last a few days - without washing her hair obviously. It only took her about 15 minutes and I know it would've taken me an hour at home, so I guess it's a case of having the right tools and products making a big difference.
Tips
Ask the cost upfront, that way you will know just what is included. Sometimes you can negotiate to get more services included, especially with this bad economy.
