Description of service
My partner had never been horseback riding before, so we decided one spring day that we would try it out. We did some research and found a place about an hour south of our home where you could take a beginners ride for only $20.00 a person. It was a first come first served schedule, so we got there right when they opened. There was a line already, but we were able to get on the first ride of the day. I was a bit scared and so was my partner, but the tour guide calmed us down and showed us everything we needed to know before the ride started. We also had a test ride at the beginning to make sure we could handle the ride. The full ride lasted an hour and was all in the country (no paved trails).
Review of Service
We loved it. We have not been back, but would go back. The horses were really healthy and friendly and gentle. The tour guide was patient and the amount of time on the horse was just perfect. For $20.00, I felt like it was a really good deal. We also took the beginners ride, and it had children on it, so it would be a great way to spend time with your kids. I would recommend this to anyone who loves horses and wants to support a place of business where they obviously love their horses too.
Tips
Know that you are taking a ride on an animal that is allowing you to ride them. Be respectful of this fact and be gentle and nice to the horse. Get there early, as the rides fill up early, especially on pretty spring days. Plan to be a bit sore the next day if you have never ridden as the ride is bumpy and you will use muscles you did not know you had. Have fun!!
