Description of service
On a family trip to Estes Park, CO we went horseback riding for an hour. It cost $55 per person for hour. Our tour guide did not accept tips.
Review of Service
We had a large family reunion in Estes Park and wanted to find activities that we could all do as a group. We decided to try a horse back riding place that allowed us to ride horses on a trail through the mountains. We had a guide who took us through. The ride was about an hour but we were asked to show up an hour earlier to get ourselves aquainted with the horses and to get general instructions.
The riding part was great. We saw some really beautiful scenery and our guide was very funny and informative. The horses are used to this trail and clearly travel it several times a day. They were very slow and good horses and we all felt safe.
The only downside to this as a family activity is that a few in our group had more advanced riding skills. They would have preferred to ride horses with a little more spunk and personality and to go off of the trails a little more.
Tips
This can be a great group activity. There is a lot to learn through trail rides like these. However, be sure if there are people in your group with more experience that they understand that they won't have much control over the horses.
