My wife and I spent an incredible afternoon horseback riding through the hills and down to the beach near Santa Barbara. We drove out to the ranch to meet our guide, saddled up, and hit the trail. The horses were beautiful, strong animals. The ride was one of the greatest experiences of my life. The cost was thirty dollars per person and lasted about three hours.
Review of Service
What a day! I had more fun with my wife that day than I did on our honeymoon or any of our dates before we were married. We rode our horses down the trail through the hills out onto the beach. The horses, obviously, do this every day so they know what to do and where to go. However, once you are on the beach they let you really ride. You have to have some previos experience with horses to do this, but it is amazing. I had my horse, Blue, at full gallop right at the water's edge. My wife just in front of me, her horse kicking up ocean spray. After about 30 minutes we hopped off, fed the animals some treats the guide had brought and headed back.
Tips
My wife and I invited some friends to go back with us recently, but they declined saying they were afraid to get on a horse. Don't let fear rob you of this amazing experience. It'll be the best $60.00 you spend.
