the Price of Horseback Riding

I went horseback riding with my mother who has been taking horseback riding lessons. Her teacher does lessons and regular horseback riding also. She lets you brush the horse before and kind of get to know it. Then she shows you how to put on the saddle and hold the reins. Then you get to ride the horse around her ranch, around obstacles and through the pasture.

The horse was very sweet and let me brush him even though I didn't really know what I was doing. I got to feed him a carrot too, and adjust his saddle. The person leading the horseback riding trip was great too, as I'm a total beginner and she was very helpful. She never made me feel like I didn't know what I was doing, but was very encouraging and supportive. It was fun although I was sore by the end of the ride!

Horseback riding is a really fun excursion and is great for families or for groups of friends. Make sure that the person who is leading the expedition takes into account your level and what is appropriate for your level. Make sure you are comfortable with the horse and how to guide it around during the ride.
