Description of service
This summer I paid $60 for a one hour horseback ride. The price included the horse, the saddle, the tack and the guide. It also included a brief instruction at the beginning and end of the ride on saddling, unsaddling and caring for the horse. Lastly, this price included access to an expanse of private property on which to ride the horse.
Review of Service
While visiting friends in Chicago this past summer, we heard about a great new horseback riding facility and decided to try it out on a whim. I rode a lot as a kid, while my friend had never been on a horse before. The facility was great. The trainer spoke to each customer at length to gauge their experience and comfort level in order to find each of us the right horse. He then took us to meet our horses, spent time introducing us and getting horse and human comfortable together. Then, while the staff was saddling our horses, he demonstrated the proper way to saddle the horse for all of us. The ride was great. There were two trainers from the facility with our group of fifteen, and they explained the scenery, which was gorgeous, and made the novice riders feel comfortable and confident on the horse. At the end of the ride, he showed us how to remove the saddle and tack from the horses and brush them down. It was a great experience!
Tips
Try to find a facility that will teach you the horse care basics along with the riding. It enhances the experience, and it is very important information to know!
